the Robinson family
The Robinson have been farming in Southwestern Ontario for generations, and in the early 1900s, Grandma Robinson made it official with the name Red Robin Farm. At the time the farm was located in Courtland, Ontario, but in the 1960's they picked up and moved closer to Tillsonburg, just outside of the little village of Brownsville.
The 200-year-old farmhouse on this land still has its charm, and a lot of it's history has been lovingly preserved through the caring and talented craftmanship of George Robinson, formerly Robinson Electric.
As the third (and fourth) generations to operate Red Robin Farm (now Homestead), we have been it's stewards since late 2023.
Prior to coming here, we spent 16 fulfilling years turning our new-build home into an Urban Homestead—a little park of sustainability where we tapped the maple trees we planted in our backyard, grew our own food, and embraced a simpler way of life, right in the middle of town. We have brought that same spirit of homesteading to the farm, weaving it into the lands natural rhythm of growing crops on the majority of the acreage.
With sheep grazing the pasture, quail raised in cage-free aviaries, free roaming chickens, and turkeys to call it home, we don't see it as just a place to live — it’s an enduring testament to the beauty of family, tradition, and the hope of generations yet to come.
